Melbourne studio’s 2007 Oscar nomination.
The L.A produced ‘DELIVER US FROM EVIL’ after winning best doco @ the L.A. film festival, was nominated for best documentary feature at the 2007 Oscar’s. The sound mix was by Atlantis’s David Streefkerk. The Mick Harvey composed score was mixed by David McCluney.

With a 22-year pedigree in the Australian Music scene recording
the likes of Nick Cave, Mick Harvey, Cruel Sea, Something for Kate, The Drones
and Spiderbait, Atlantis has entered the film arena with the addition of
David Streefkerk. David returns from abroad having worked in both Europe
and the US for major recording artists, film studios and Director’s,
most recently industry giant Paramount.
David Streefkerk and the Atlantis crew hope to showcase Australia’s
world class music and post production on the international circuit, starting
the ball rolling with a stunning collaboration between local composer Mick
Harvey and award winning LA filmmaker Amy Berg on the controversial documentary ‘Deliver
Us From Evil’. Mick’s haunting score underpins what is a shockingly
in-depth look at child sexual abuse in the Catholic Church. Scooping the
pool at the recent LA Film Festival winning both the judges and people’s
choice awards, the documentary picked up international distribution through
Lionsgate. 'Deliver Us From Evil' is the story of Oliver O’Grady, the
most notorious paedophile priest in modern history, and an investigation
into how he was allowed to reign destruction on congregations for over 20
years. David’s deft execution and subtlety shows in this work and certainly
places him amongst Australia’s elite Sound Designers.
'Suburban Mayhem' saw Mick Harvey team-up with Atlantis’ Dave McCluney to produce a riotous soundtrack of petrol-fuelled rock’n’roll. The third feature from Paul Goldman asks the question “Why does a 19 year-old girl plot to kill her own father?” and so begins a bizarre ride in this sexy black comedy drama.
